Walchsee, Tyrol, Austria
Drove the few kilometres to Oberammergau. I had been there in 2010 with my sister and brother in law to see the Passion Play, performed all summer of each decade since 17th century in thanks for being spared the plague. The Playhouse seats over 4000, and there are at least 100 performances each season.

The village is still busy, even in non-play years . Looked at the outside of the playhouse, the Christmas shop, inside the beautiful Rococo church, had coffee then admired the painted houses (Luftmalerei), especially Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood and the Pilatus House.

Then drove on, past shores of Schlieasee Lake and back onto Austria. This time, on the motorway to Kufstein, we finally sorted the GoBox. Something to do with our "emission" status, which had obviously not changed!

Then on to Walchsee, beautiful lake surrounded by mountains, in the pouring rain! I had been there many times since my teens and John had been too with me, last on 2006. Met by good friend Sophie and her friend Birgit, and settled into our hotel. Then out to dinner in nearby Kossen, for typical Tyrolean food.
