Innsbruck, Tyrol, Austria
We had booked a Segway tour, supposedly 10 km around the Walchsee lake, but it was cancelled due to the appalling weather.

Set off for Kufstein . Stopped at a cheese factory at Gasteig (Kirchdorf) and bought some really smelly soft cheese. Glimpses of the Kaiser mountain - Zahmer Kaiser and Wilder Kaiser.

Arrived at Kufstein as the weather settled - hooray! Quick lunch in the Boomer then went up in the funicular rail to the Kufstein fortress (Festung Kufstein). Very interesting museum exhibits in the buildings of the fortress, including the largest free standing organ, housed in one of the towers, that is played daily at noon. Wandered down the so called "Gingerbread Street" Romerhofgasse, too touristy for us. Went in search of the 1970s chairlift up the cliffs of the Wilder Kaiser, only to find it ceased operating 2 years ago, too expensive to fix.

Ever been glad about a computer glitch? We thought we had fixed the Go Box for Austrian motorway tolls. As we approached a junction on the motorway, noted a motorway police van, who then followed us, overtook us and then flashed blue lights and a "FOLLOW ME " sign, we assume, in German, to the next parking area. Still some issue with the box, related to our original registration in May and our emission rating. Fine of 240 Euros for not sending a fax somewhere in May! BUT...... the guy's computer would not work, so no fine (maybe he sympathised with us?) They just told us to go to the nearest servo as the box had also run out of money for onward travel (less than 30 Euros) It would all be easy if they took a credit card but they do not - all cash transactions.

Money paid , we went to a camp site on the west side of Innsbruck, when we were welcomed with home made Schnapps and ate a locally made pizza dinner before bed, in the pouring rain, again.
