Drove to Dundee. We stopped at the Discovery Centre. Captain Scots ship, The Discovery, was berthed alongside the wharf, ready to sail. Great museum and then we clambered in and out of the 3 deck levels of the ship. The ship went on the British Antarctic Expedition in 1901-1904 and has been really faithfully restored.

Had lunch and then walked along East Haven beach . Dating to 1214, an old fishing village, where the Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret used to come in the 1930s, from nearby Balmoral.

Next stop - Seaton Cliffs, once a great smuggling centre on the east coast of Scotland. Cannot believe we are walking along beaches in Scotland in (almost) November!

Final visit for the day - Dunnottar Castle, a ruined medieval fortress on a peninsula high above the sea. What a fabulous site to defend! Had a good look over all the buildings and took lots of photos of the cliffs extending in either direction. We were almost the last to leave. Back to the Boomer to drive on to Stonehaven to camp in a caravan park just behind the beach.

North again tomorrow, and we hope the weather holds.
