Ballyturin

Gort, Western Ireland, Ireland
Said a sad "good bye" to Teresa. Drove out of Dublin and across the country. Stopped for shopping at Athlone, where John had to spend an hour fixing the air compressor again.

Drove on to Kinvara, which was where my late father always wanted to retire! Looked at the outside of Dunguaire Castle, apparently a much photographed ruin . Then walked around the harbour and small village. I noted how Kinvara had changed over the years and then we retired to the pub.

Then drove to Ballyturin. This was my mother's family farm house, 250 years old and much renovated. I had visited numerous times for childhood holidays. Looking forward to photos in the daylight, as I had last been here with my late uncle Chris and my sister Theresa in 2004. John had visited when we were on our honeymoon.

Cousin Niall came to let us in and settle us into the house, and stayed for a drink and a long catch up.
