Songkhla, Thailand
Rain..rain...well it doesn't rain often here this time of year but when it does it's quite heavy! Charmaine and I were out at market and shopping (universal female trait) and after returning she instisted I showere because the rain here is very acidic....ah...aking mahal (tagalog: my love) Charmaine ...always looking out for her palangga (darling as she calls me...heh-heh..(blush) ) Well for my brother Bryan, the currency here in Thailand is the Baht (Bah-T) I'm still working on pronouncing "Nee (flat) Thao (down inflection at end) Rai (short a)?"
"How much?" $153 Baht "roi ha sip sam baht" ...yeah...takes time to get use to

...and one thing before I forget...go back to yesterdays post and look for my McDonalds pic....I just noticed,....the Ronald figure is in the postion of the Thai greeting....they don't shake hands..(although the younger generation is more westernized and do shake) the traditional greeting is a wai they fold hands in front of them and bow...the position of authority rank means the dept of bowing, youth always wai lower to elders .
Ok...some pics! We went back to market and to the grocery store ...The "Lee" it's like the Jewel but no Barb Nelson....but they do have this guy.....yes guy.(note adams apple?) (There's your $1600 at work Johnny Mac!)
Pretty much a traditional grocery store ('cept the tranny) Ketchup Twinkies...a bit of this and that.....

Interesting supper...fish....veggies...rice....nothing abnormal there...Charmaine did teach me the traditional way Filippino's eat...spoon in right hand fork in left...fork pushes food onto the spoon. Jovy let me know that they will use just there hands for informal gatherings like a picnic. Well after supper....Charmaine let me have a Thai beer. I normally dont't drink beer (Vodka Martini...Crown Royal.....) so it's een a while...They are a bit 'malty' in taste....but when you can sample a beer 9000 miles from home...sure! why not!

then came the shocker....Charmaine took her fork...poked out my finished fishes eye...and ate it! It's 'tasty and for good luck" she said..., "You try one..." Ok...the woman I love has just dared me.....here you go!

Then another shocker...Jovy walked by and said, "Oh, you can eat the whole head...quite delicious"....and she did!!!!...sorry I wasn't running the camera for you....next time......

Here are some Thai girls at the internet cafe and their 10 month old baby friend they are watching.....Nooch, Teena and Sky....I can get you single guys an email address if you'd like...they like A-may-re-ga's (Americans...)
Sky saw my business card and was happy to speak of her background in marketing and public relations....maybe It's time the Ruff Housing Team had an Assistant....Of course I don't think that will pass with Charmaine...heh-heh..

Lunch today...thank goodness Mae was home as Charmaine is administering Final exams and was unable to come home and make my lunch today...good Thing Mae was home to boild water for me. (I'm a bachelor...what did you expect?)
Like Ramen noodles.....but with spicy chilli sauce .

Then Mae had her lunch...Fish...of course she ate the eye..."So Tasty" as Mae said.

Well it's back to work...I actually have something brewing and I'm 'quarterbacking' it here in Thailand....9000 away....Don't cha' just love the internet!"

Fish Eyes and Monkeys
Shane, I'll have to admit, your adventures have topped anything I have come up with yet. I thought taking fish oil capsules was a big idea. And my son's iguana can't compare to those monkeys. Do the monkeys bite?
