Fifty minutes later we had crossed the 1.2 mile Golden Gate bridge with many, many photo stops along the way.
 
The workman at Vista Point said it was only 2.5 miles to Sausalito. The sign said 1 mile. It took us 30 minutes to walk the downhill. Surprised that there was no foot path / sidewalk. As I said “B&B Mystery Tours of San Francisco” will lead you anywhere including walking on the road with the oncoming traffic to contend with, It was safe!

I had always wanted to visit this small seaside town and am now glad that I can tick that one off. I see why it is popular with day visitors and why the cyclist like to ride from downtown, over Golden Gate Bridge and into Sausalito, grab a lunch then ferry back to town.
