California Academy of Science

San Francisco, California, United States
Back on board the 12.30 pm Caltrain bound for San Francisco. This time we sat upstairs. Wish we had this sort of train back home!

By 2.30 pm we had made the California Academy of Science where John and Judy were patiently waiting for us. Thanks guys. Took a bit longer to get here from the city via the N line again. Our time together was far too short.

I had heard such wonderful things about this place and the 2 hours was simply not enough time to fully appreciate what a wonderful resource the locals have right on their door step to show off especially to children, visitors and out of towners like us.

It is an excellent museum that I had heard many good things about over the years but have never visited. Besides the earthquake room, living roof, penguins, tropical rain forest, aquarium, an albino alligator, it is a natural history museum all under one living roof.

Our brief time was finished in Park Chow enjoying one of their lagers as you had to head back to town to catch the last ferry of the day and we had a dinner engagement.

Thanks to Pam her daughters Sheryl and Colleen for dinner at Villa Romana. It was another brief catch up plus answering and adding the extra layer to how our two families met all those years ago = our parents met on a cruise plus the what I will call extra coincidence of the connection with Philip Kam in Honolulu.

Thanks for the heaps of suggestions as to “what to see and taste“. Must make another trip back to complete ticking off the list!

This was a great Italian meal and the owner Tony kept on piling us with complementary pizzas plus at the end of the evening gave us a toast to wish us all well. That was a real pleasant surprise such generosity. No wonder we could not finish the 4 course dinner special meal and had doggie boxes to take away!
