Baptismal service

Mexico City, The Federal District, Mexico
Next door to the magnificent Catedral Metropolitana (cathedral) in the side Metropolitana Sacrarium, a baptismal service was on.

Depending which web site to believe, (one said 99.8%) a very high percentage of the population claim to be Catholic so it was no surprise to see so many young babies being christened in one of the many services being held today. Most web sites said about 90% of Mexicans are Catholics.

With nearly 8 million Mexicans living in Mexico City, I can see why so many would want their children to be baptised in the city's main cathedral.

When on the walk today there was a district I went through with shops after shops selling white dresses for different religious events. See another entry for a photo.

Just opened your Blog for first time Bruce. Glad to see someone enjoying their life, while others are working hard. Great photos. What camera do you have?
