1677 - home sweet home for 6 nights

San Francisco, California, United States
1677 17th Ave was our retreat for 6 nights. It far exceeded my expectations.

John and Shelley’s pre-arrival notes were more than extensive and gave me a very good overview of what we were to expect.

The space that was available to us to spread. In fact we didn’t really use the front lounge.

It was pleasing to see how John and Shelly have kept the house as original as possible. Built in 1939 the same year as the Golden Gate International Exposition.

Having a full kitchen with the usual everyday condiments on hand was really useful plus the breakfast supply and chilled wine awaiting us in the fridge.

Being relatively close to the N Line meant a speedy trip into town. Coming back here at night we were away from hustle and bustle of San Francisco in this very quiet neighbourhood.

Thanks for the unexpected offer to meet me by the N Line stop on my arrival John. The walk wheeling my bag was fine.

To anyone staying here, do make the effort to climb the tiled stairs and then to the view point at the top. It is just around the corner. It took us till nearly the last day to take time out for the 30 minutes needed.
