Time to hit the road ... well a lamp post!

Teotihuacan, México, Mexico
Next stop was a visit to see how tequila was made out of the different types of agave plants. Guided by Miguel he informed us that it took 10 - 12 years for the plants to grow before the heart is taken out and turned into liquid honey producing about 4 litres a day at 5% alcohol.

Then lunch at Quetzalcoatl’s parents place. Bean soup, chicken inside a green pepper, cactus salad, pork, palm tree fruit desert all washed down with an almond tequila.

Time to hit the road and it was literally that. As the van was backing down this narrow one lane road to pick us up, the driver miscalculated the distance and hit a lamp post that was placed not on the foot path as one would expect, but was on the road itself! Out popped one of the rear doors back windows plus their was now a dent in one of the rear doors. Time was spent taping a plastic bag over the windowless door and then off we went for the 2 hour drive to Puebla which we got to just after 4.30 pm.
