Manuel Antonio back to San Jose

San Jose, San José, Costa Rica
A possible sleep in day as we have a 11.20 am departure from Manuel Antonio back to San Jose. So after yesterday’s late breakfast at 9.30 am when it was packed at Backpacker’s Paradise Costa Linda, ventured down their again early at 7.30 am for their breakfast again for just C$2,000 / NZ $ 4.90 / US $ 4 - their plate of fruit: pineapple, water melon, banana and topped with a pancake. Then the egg, pinot, (rice and bean) and a couple pieces of baguette bread. Self-serve coffee completed this meal. Great value for money if I may say.

Then a walk along part of the beach before today’s hordes descended.

The bus which left at noon got us back to San Jose 3 hours later. Seeing the temperature figures displayed inside the bus drop on the trip from 35 C down to 28 C should have warned me as to what was happening outside.

It was a grey cloudy day that welcomed us back into this city that is closed again. Of course it is Sunday! A fleet of 3 red taxis took us the short distance from the bus station back to Hotel Ricino del San Jose. A quick walk back into town to get some more US $ out of Scotibank ATM for my Panama sector plus some food for tomorrow long bus and boat trip.

Then dinner at a new restaurant just around the corner from our hotel. Thumbs up by everyone that this would be good for future groups to use. Restaurante El Vescuveo - Corvino Coste Sole or sea bass with mushrooms, white vine and shrimps. Yes, a good choice and again at the recommendation of the staff. Total C$ 8,360 / NZ $ 20.40 / US $ 16.90.
