Bahir Dar, Amhara, Ethiopia
Then checked in at the Summerland Hotel. I was lucky, or was it unlucky as they had no lift so it was walk up five flights of steps to the top floor with my bag. What would have been a great water view from the top floor looking over Lake Tana, the Amhara Development Building stood in front of me blocking the outlook.

Lunch was across the road at the Lake Shore Resort. Being besides the lake it just had to be fish for today. Fish foil was recommended and yes, it was baked in alum foil 99 birr / NZ$6.60 / US$4.85. That plus a bottle of Walia and the taxes came to 140 birr / NZ$9.30 / US$6.90.

We all whether we liked it or not, it was an African massage on the 40 km dusty road to see the Blue Nile Falls. But first it was a short stop at a road side store to get a 6 pack of 1.5 bottles of water for the next few days. Cheaper than in the hotels.
