Sun had risen before I did but these few images greeted me just after 7 am. It was cool and the air was still outside. The 3 youngest left to climb the iron rungs to the Abuna Yemata Guh monastery. Wish I was a bit more of a more of a mountain goat but it is the downward descent that worried me.
Leaving the beautiful serene Gheralta Lodge for our lunch stop at nearby Adigrat, just 23 km along the road.
At Geza-Gerelase Hotel cultural restaurant had for lunch "Tihiio" which is one of their local dishes made out of maize and roasted barley flour, eaten with beef stew and accompanied with a milk and sunflower sauce. Lunch cost 120 birr / NZ$8 / US$5.90.
