Cueva Del Indio, Pinar del Río, Cuba
Then most of us wanted to go to Cueva del Indio 5.5km north of Viñales which Leo and Jose took us. It was for CUC$5 / US$5 / NZ$7.70 an optional extra.

Cueva del Indio was as expected another limestone cave that was lit up. If it was a China then in coloured lights.

First was a 250 metre walk and in one bit had to crouch down a bit for us taller people. Oh to be a Hobbit. Then a similar distance in the boat. It would have been better if the engine was battery powered instead of an outboard. That will no doubt come later. Yes, a bit of imagination is needed to see the images in the limestone but when the boatman was speaking in Spanish, who knows what they were.

In a pretty nook 5.5km north of Viñales village, this cave is very popular with tourists. An ancient indigenous dwelling, it was rediscovered in 1920. Motor boats now ply the underground river through the electrically lit cave.

After this extra activity, meant that it was just 30 minutes for a rather rushed lunch at Pomo doro in order to be back at the bus by 1 pm (13:00). At least the group had spilt up in different directions to grab a bite to eat. No time to look around Vinales but that didn't really matter.
