Homeward leg ... shortly Capetown after 40 days on the road from Nairobi, Kenya.

What am I going to write in my final trip blog? What are the impressions that I am gaining and will remember in the years to come?

But first, 2 more nights out camping.

After the border crossing into South Africa where the police finger tested all of us to see if we were ....

We camped at Fiddlers Creek / Bush Whacked camp site right by the gentle flowing Orange River on the border with Namibia. For Kenyan Tom, it was still very cold for him the further south he got.

For some they decided to go for a paddle on these inflatable 2 person kayaks. It was cold for them so I'm glad I didn't venture out with the others on this otherwise slow moving river. They did see bird life.

We travelled the next day 450 kilometers along the excellent highway stopping briefly in Springbok, a town to get the last supplies. Throughout the whole day we past many colourful wild flowers as landscape was still ever changing and becoming more fertile. Tomorrow Table Mountain and Capetown!

That night we camped in a former overlander guide vineyard called Highlanders. We enjoyed some of Sparkie's, who was born in Scotland and an former electrician, home grown and bottled products.

That afternoon the All Blacks played South Africa in Bloemfontein ... the Springboks won :( and being the sole Kiwi amongst several South African in the bar ...
