Cape Town, South Africa
Second to last night in Africa and we stayed in the really wonderful d'Ouwe Werf Hotel. This is South Africa's oldest inn established in 1802 and was right in the centre of Stellenbosch. Being so near to Capetown we were close to our last delayed planned activity being tomorrow's 1 pm delayed visit out to Robben Island.

Driving along the last few days on the inland route we passed so many vineyards to get to triple wineyard towns of Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.

I love the Dutch architecture of university town Stellenbosch's old buildings in the white wash finish plus the smaller character filled township of Franschhoek. These are really lovely places for a day's drive from Capetown for a lunch. Just like us Aucklanders going out west to the local Kumeu vineyards.
