Punta Cormorant on the northern part of Floreana was home overnight which we arrived at 3 am. Yes, I was awake when the anchor was dropped. The last part of the crossing from South Plaza was a little bit of rock and roll as the Xavier III had to hand the waves coming from aside.

Wet landing on the green sandy beach (when dry it is green) which is caused by the olivine crystals, volcanic-derived silicates of magnesium and iron. One lonely sea lion was waiting for us on the beach and willingly posed.

No flamingos were in the lake. I didn’t know but you can change the colour of the flamingos by the colour of the food it eats. One lonely duck made its way along the water’s edge searching for food.

Across the hill to Flour Beach with its fine white sand. This is a nesting site for turtles who were just out at sea.

The bright and colourful Sally Lynn crabs seem to attract my attention.

Sting rays were right in the water edge and one had to be patient to see them amongst the sand being churned up by the waves.
