White water rafting is what I decided to do today.

It was either here in Banos or later in Cuzco, Peru.

Decision, decision ....

On route to getting our gear, we had to stop for a parade. Guess who was quickly out of the van and started to snap away the children so colourfully dressed?

This was the first of many parades that we saw over the next few days leading up to Christmas.



















































































































































































































En route we saw the volcano in the distance steaming away.



























Stephanie, Lilly, Hannah, Tara, Roger, Peter, John and I were suppose to be on a 90 minute rafting trip down a grade 3 and 4 river for 14 kilometers. Well it wasn't. All it was a trip down a river with 1 to perhaps stretching the imagination 2 metre at best standing or pressure waves. Perhaps with all the rain, the water level had risen and flatten out the grade 3 and 4 rapids?

I had my usual front right position. Yes, in the middle of those standing water with the water flowing into the raft it was fun. Never mind.

It was still a worthwhile activity for US$30 as lunch was thrown in. You guessed it, I had trout again.

















































































































































































































































































































































































































































































































































































































As Hannah had decided to do the bridge swing, on the way back we stopped and watched her throw herself off the bridge.
