Swimming with the sharks, sea lions & turtles

South Plaza Island, Galápagos, Ecuador
I felt something brush against my leg. No, it wasn’t the underwater vegetation as there was not much of it. Was it a sea lion whom I was filming and came too close? No, it was a shark!

After our noon lunch, at 2 pm it was snorkelling time. Swimming with the sea lions and turtles were a new experience for me.

Ahead of me the people on the zodiac were pointing to something by the rocks so we swam over there. What was it? More sea lions? It was several white tip reef sharks who I was told afterwards quite harmless to us humans. The 2 videos will clearly show how close I was to them. Not helped by the water being so cloudy that they appeared out of the murky distance so quickly.

The videos may appear cloudy in the first few seconds but the autofocus will kick in and become sharper. I will later put in what the video is about plus the length of each short video clip but most are less than 1 minute.
