Chiltern to Ringwood

Ringwood, Victoria, Australia
Yesterday had been a long, but interesting day on the road and so we were into bed earlier than usual. It was good to have a long sleep and even the couple of trains passing by weren't as disturbing as the planes taking off at the Gold Coast Airport which shocked us out of our sleep for the week we were at Kirra Beach.  We were up as 6am with the caravan park rabbits!
We didn't get a chance to have a good look around the park after arriving yesterday, but a quick look this morning revealed a great outlook over Lake Anderson, which was as flat as a mirror with no wind this morning. It was very tranquil, making us think we should come back for a longer stay so we can explore the area a little more.
But it was time to pack up the caravan for one last time ready for our 280km drive home.
The drive was uneventful, with us arriving home just after 11am.
By the numbers, we'd travelled 6080km in total, of which around 4580km was with the van in tow. We used 762l of diesel with an average economy rate of 12.5l/100km.
This relatively early arrival meant we were able to unpack the van, have some lunch and then clean the inside and wash the outside of the van so we could return it to storage. In addition it meant we were able to attend the opening game of the 2019/20 NBL season which was between Melbourne United and their new cross town rival, the South East Melbourne Phoenix - a match nicknamed "Throwdown 1". For the record, Phoenix defeated United 91 - 88.
Time now to commence the planning for our next trip . . .
