Castaic, California, United States
...I make the first drone flight. It’s so. Much. Fun!
...we set out on our trip
...I notice that because of weirdly magnifying side mirrors in local cars, the blind spot is very ample here and other drivers have an ugly tendency to hide in it
...dad gets a bad cough, coming from AC as he says, and starts feeling intermittenly ill
...I appreciate the fact that self checkout is very easy in local supermarkets, with no advanced security systems or need to involve a clerk
...we visit a nearby Apple store to replace my phone and the level of customer service is simply astounding
...I also activate a new TMobile sim card to replace the one stolen in the phone and I find it amusing how when calling customer service consultants actually ask you to tell them your PIN...
...we visit the Santa Monica pier and keep driving along the scenic Highway 1 on the Pacific Coast
...I realize most place names in these areas are actually Spanish!
...I am surprised to discover that Cyn is a shortcut for Canyon on road signs
...I find it super funny to note that postal service delivery trucks have their steering wheel on the right hand side
...we pass by Santa Barbara for some shopping – a neat and charming little town. It also seems that every beachside destination in the country has at least one Ocean Drive!
...we sleep in San Luis Obispo, a charming post-colonial town and we visit its (in)famous bubble gum alley, a narrow alley with walls laced entirely with chewed up gum!
