Beaches 2 . . .Lower Bay

Bequia, Grenadines/St Vincent
Lower Bay is the next beach south of Princess Margaret on the Caribbean side of the island. It is a beautiful stretch of beach with many restaurants along both the road and beach . . .

Lower Bay can be accessed by road, takes about 30 minutes (with photo stops).

It's a very winding & steep road down to Lower Bay . . . and, more importantly, coming back up :-) . . . affectionately(?) referred to as 'heart attack hill'!

There are two restaurants on the beach . . . De Reef Beach Bar & Restaurant is a great spot to meet up with friends on Sunday afternoons and is once again offering Sunday Jam sessions and Keegan's Beachside Bar has a Saturday night BBQ and Movie Night under the Stars on Wednesdays (they've been viewing the Oscar nominees . . . Spectre tonight). La Plage is a great sunset spot and makes a yummy callaloo soup.

Lower Bay Beach can be reached using the pathway over the headland, by the natural rock archway at the far end of PM Beach.
While there is still one steep hill to climb, the rest of the walk is both much easier and more pleasant, being off the busy roads.
An added benefit of using the pathway is that it takes you by Faye's and Jack's and, if you get past both of these PM watering holes there's still the Plantation House bar :-)
