Bequia Walk 9 . . . Hope Bay

Bequia, Grenadines/St Vincent
Hope Bay is a remote beach located between Spring and Friendship Bays, on the Atlantic side.  It's definitely one of the more 'strenuous' walks, with steep hills and rough terrain.
We've walked to Hope many times . . . some routes more successful than others. One year, we made a wrong turn and ended up at what we now affectionately refer to as "Hopeless Beach" -- looking out over L'Anse a Coite.

Today's route took us up the Mt Pleasant Road, part way around the loop, through Upper Hope and then down a 'goat path' to the beach. Spectacular views.

Coming back, we walked up the old Plantation road, up to Upper Hope, through Paradise and then down the very steep hill to Port Elizabeth.

 Great views of the harbour.

A great morning. We left home at 8:30. By 11:30, all were enjoying cold drinks at the Rendevous Bar (on Front Street).
Round trip . . . just over 4 miles.
