Monday 29th: The options for getting from the hostel at the Sani Pass to Durban were fairly limited - the Sani Pass carriers were already booked up (they only have 3 seats in their little van), the owner of the hostel was offering a lift to Underberg (around 20km) away at 7.30am when he was taking his kids to school, then mini bus taxis go from there to Pietermaritzburg as and when they fill up and then there's the bus or another mini bus taxi from there to Durban.
By a stroke of luck I was chatting to a couple of girls over dinner last night who'd hired a car and were driving back to Durban in the afternoon and offered me a lift - hoorah!! They also offered to drop Roxanne to the hospice in Pinetown where she was starting her month long volunteer work with AIDs patients. Pinetown looks pretty rough and we went into the hospice which also didn't look particularly like somewhere I'd want to go and work, let alone live out my last sick days!! It'll be interesting to see how she goes with that.

We arrived in Durban at around 3pm and Nomads hostel was actually only a couple of streets away from their lodgings which was handy. I checked in and then went for a wander to the local shopping mall for a poke around.
The hostel is deserted so I spent a while chatting to the guy working in the evening who seems to be a bit of a hippy - he asked me to analyse some of his doodles which was interesting!!
Then we had a huge thunderstorm which was really impressive - the lightning was incredible.
A couple of other guests arrived during the evening, but I think there must've been less than 10 of us in total!!

Tuesday 30th: I was going to go for a wander around Durban, but in the end I just couldn't be bothered!! I've been told so many times how dangerous Durban is and there's nothing that I've read or been told about here that I'm really that excited to see so I just went to the local shopping mall, played on the internet and generally did bugger all today :o)

Wednesday 31st: Hopping back on the Baz Bus to St Lucia :o)
