Another early start with Uber. Today, we played the Royal Course at Ka’anapali.
This course is more exposed to the wind and it blew strongly for the whole
round. Once again Chris won the day with good play and I was second.
Afterwards, we returned to the resort then headed off for Round 2 at the
Outlet Mall. A few more strategic purchases, (Guess handbags, Hilfiger shirts –
just the necessities of life) and then back on the shuttle to the resort again,
this time to get ready for our Maui Luau (Hawaiian for too much food and questionably
authentic entertainment) - the Feast at Lele version. Gathering up Don and Jane
and once again catching the shuttle down to Lahaina, we bussed down to the
Luau.
The venue is a stage on the beach and on arrival, welcomed with double
shot Mai Tai’s we are seated at a table on the sand on a beautiful
night with no wind, or perhaps it's just protected there and the night is warm
and balmy. From our table, we watch the sunset, drinking cocktails (now on the
Pina Coladas). Each of us gets a Lei of purple orchids which are perfumed and
beautiful, and very warm to wear around your neck. The feast consists of 5
courses with wine and entertainment sourced from the Islands of Polynesia (Hawaii,
Samoa, New Zealand and Tahiti). It is a fabulous night that we all enjoy.
