In August we once again headed for Cornwall to stay with our friends Andrew and Jane for Falmouth Week.
Andrew and Jane have house right on the water front in Falmouth Harbour; The Pink House. Their small patio runs down to the harbour wall and they can moor their sailing boat just a few metres off-shore. Great location.
Falmouth Week is a sailing festival, with lots of boat races and events. The Red Arrows did the display, as usual, but this time over the southern beach. They normally do it over the harbour and we can watch it from J&A's patio.
We also got to see Annie's Godmother Shiela. A couple of weeks before we went their had been a flash flood in the village of Coverack. Sheila's garden was badly effected by the floods with huge canyon's being cut through the lawn and garden. Some of it will be an effort to recover, some of the damage might never be the same again! The village also suffered huge damage. Ironically the small bridge built by Annie's father over a stream in Beach House, Sheila (and Alan's) old house survived despite their being flooding and massive damage to the house.
