Kapadokya: Urgup, Goreme, Red Valley, Turkey
Arriving at something like 6:00 am in the morning sleepy and hungry, we travelled by a service bus from the bus station (otogar) to Urgup where we had made a reservation for a hotel at the bargain price of 10 million TL for the night (around £4.00) including our breakfast. On our way the sun was slowly rising and the clouds were low in the sky over the volcanic formations. A hilly landscape with deep valleys and what can only be described as small smurf villages dotted amongst these. We were in Kapadokya!

After arranging the tour for two days we would take for 20 million TL per day, we were picked up from our hotel, we first stop at the Fairy Chimneys, our tour guide has the pleasure or maybe displeasure of first talking to us 'karasik yabanci' mixed foreigners and then in Turkish to a group of middle aged Turkish women who had escaped their ritual house chores in Ankara we learned later .
