Arklow, Ireland
We are now in Arklow having left Howth yesterday (Sunday) at 05.15. The first part of the sail was delightful, light breeze, boat doing 6 knots and the sun rising in the East warming us up. After 2 hours the wind died and we motored anothre 4 hour in glorious sunshine with good views of the coast.

We had been told by some of the boys in Howth that the marina in Arklow was tight and that we were in the middle of a bank holiday weekend . As we entered the marina we found it was about the size of a gentelman's wardrobe and contained about 30 boats. We berthed up quickly and proceeded to watch the fun as peoplke left and entered. One guy ricocheted off of 3 other boats as a gust of wind came in. One guy in a small wooden boat came in single handed, moored up immaculately. He said the boat was about 35' long with the bowsptrit but when it came to mooring fees claimed it was onl 25'.
Another entrant in the Arklow marina dodgem stakes came in from Liverpool, moored up well and, when chatting later he remembered Gina from the Scottish Series a few years ago.
We have had a look around town (it is bank holiday) and the guy in Howth was right - theres Feck All to do in Arklow.
Hope to move on to Kilmore Quay tomorrow (weather permitting).

Keep in Touch.
