Still in Crosshaven

Crosshaven, Ireland
We are still here in Crosshaven until at least Thursday awaiting the current gales to go to Scotland! The weather looks set fair for Thursday to Tuesday so we are likely to leave as soon as our liferaft returns from servicing.

In the meantime we have been enjoying this part of the world . On Saturday we went to Cork and on to Cobh. On the way we went over to a wee marina called East Ferry. It had a delightful setting and an Egon Ronay recommended pub. Great lunch in baking sun looking over the marina and river - idyllic - oh yes and England being stuffed by Australia was on the telly. A perfect day for a Welsh Rugby supporter (not so good for Gina).

Cobh (aka Queenstown) was the last port of call for both the Titanic and the Lusitania. They had and excellent Heritage Centre explaining the history of the town.

Since then we have had to return the car, make spare windvanes for Jeck and read loadsa books.

We are currently in an internet cafe in Corrigaline. If Heineken ran internet cafes this is how they would do it - comfy leather chairs, free tea and coffee and excellent equipment.

Hopefully our next tome will come from Spain.
