Lagos, Portugal
We moved into the flat on 1st October. As we are a good 15mins walk from the marina, we decided to hire a car to move the incredible amount of gear we seem to have. Two yachting friends (Bob and Liz) whom we first met in Peniche , gave us a hand, & we were in & unpacked in record time.

Monty has adapted straight away, like he has done to everything new . We are enjoying having a bath available & a bit more space to spread out.
The views from the flat are stunning & there is always something to look at on the water.

While we had the car available we took the opportunity to explore the area & get to some D.I.Y. shops for boat stuff. We drove out to Sagres & Cape Vincent to see how they looked from the land, having last sailed round them at 4am in the dark. The cliffs & caves are spectacular. Local fishermen hang off the cliff tops with huge drops to the sea, & seem to get good & varied catches.

Now the boat is pretty empty we have started sanding down the varnish work in the saloon .It hasn,t been done since we bought the boat. We have appreciated the flat even more, coming home covered in dust!! Rob has also made a shelf for the computer, above the nav table, so that it has somewhere secure to sit while at sea.

The social life here in Lagos is pretty good . The live-aboards here have formed a club - The Navigators Club - which organises social dos, visits to the local boatyards, discussions, language courses and organised walks in the area.
