Loved this campground last night - Jamestown, N Dakota Campground - can't give it enough of a good rating! Bathrooms spotless, campsites lovely with trees and grass, fire rings; dog walk area was perfect for off leash walking the perimeter of the park; laundry was convenient; owners were so pleasant; the mosquitos had died down this am, was not bothered as I gave Sara a good run; sunsets were beautiful over the corn fields; and a very reasonable price!! We made it out at 12:15 since we were still waiting for laundry to finish. They recommended Mennard's at next exit for a propane refill, and that was not such a great experience (not sure we got all we paid for but it's not a big expense); there was also a nice Walmart there and it looks like a lot to do in Jamestown, but we had to get on the road. So actually travelling at 1:30 pm, heading to Fargo - Costco was our goal! Gas in Fargo at Costco was $1.85/gal - our best price since leaving home I think!! We also ran in to look for black rice, but no luck there, so grabbed a little lunch and some shrimp for dinner. Had lunch on the lawn of Costco so Sara could be with us, then on the road. It's getting greener, still seeing those wonderful sunflower fields, and just big blue sky for miles ahead. The driving is easy, winds are minimal and speed limit is now 80mph!! But lots of construction where they close lanes and you narrow down to 2 lanes, but speed limit only decreases to 65mph! Tonight we are boondocking in Walmart, Sam's Club lots in Sioux Falls, S Dakota - we are splurging on using the generator to get TV (usually we try not to make noise in the parking lots at night, but the street outside is so noisy that we didn't think anyone would notice) while eating our lime cilantro shrimp over arugula/spinach with sautéed sugar snap peas/bacon accompanied by 14 Hands Red Wine straight from Walmart! We are studying the maps to calculate possible arrival in Columbus, Ohio in 3 days - hoping to catch my friends in Indianapolis along the way, and maybe get to see some others along that route, and still get into Kent, Youngstown area by early next week!! But that means some serious driving for next few days (6 hours driving per day) - not too bad! We are sad that our trip is winding down for now, but can't wait for the Niagara Falls, Eggfest on Aug. 14 and then getting back to Atlanta!
