It's mostly been a day of travel, expected a 4 hour drive but more like 5 hours with stops for lunch/gas/dog walk. But it was a gorgeous day and we arrived Jupiter/Juno Beach amidst much traffic. I held my breath on the GPS directions since she thought there was no such address as 900 Juno Ocean Walk, but it would take 899 - so I knew we would either find it or end up in a complete dead end where Big Bertha would have no room to turn around! But, fortunately, our destination was right where GPS said it was NOT. But we are definitely in a seniors enclave, with very glamorous surroundings-beautiful landscaping, bike/walking trails, hotels, and ritzy stores! We'll explore more tomorrow. This is more a permanent community so we have a completely tiled parking pad and picnic table - first time I've opened the awning for awhile, have our chairs out, appetizers and Stella to watch the Inauguration hoopla! We also were ready to run to the top of the hill and face South with my iPad playing the live broadcast of the Atlas V satellite launch - fortunately, a small group formed and one woman pointed us in the correct direction so that we actually saw the rocket (a bright orange glow) and then saw it change as it shed some layers (looking like an orange peach). It was visible straight across the sky for about 3-4 minutes - very impressive! Now I'm on a mission to get reservations for Sunday night after I drop Becky at Miami airport and pick up Karen - finding the campgrounds very limited, expensive, and full! May be looking at Walmarts on the Keys or staying in long term parking at the airport!
BTW, I forgot to relate a cute story I heard on the St Augustine trolley tour yesterday . They were talking about Spanish Moss from the trees and how it caused the first auto recall in history - apparently Henry Ford thought it was a fitting "stuffing" for the auto seats of new Fords, but did not realize the moss harbors chiggers, thereby causing severe discomfort to all passengers of the new cars - sounds worse than the whole airbag fiasco! So now you know!
