Willcox to Tucson, AZ

Tucson, Arizona, United States
Survived the night at Sagebrush RV Park and woke to a sunny day - everything looks better on a sunny day! I walked Sara, finding she now has blood in her stool, so I decided it was time to get to a vet in Tucson. The trip was easy following I-10 West, winds are much calmer. I arrived at the KOA Lazydays in Tucson about noon and was excited that my spot was available before official checkin time. Now this is a resort to make up for last night's ghost village! Here we have a resort with gorgeous pool, waterfall, hot tub, beautiful reservation center, workout room, laundry, a Cantina, and great big dog park! And only $30/night, compared to the desert field last night that was $25! I did a little more research on vet clinics in the area, then decided to try one that was not an emergency vet, but had office hours on Sundays. We went to Valencia Animal Hospital, had a nice vet who went to school at Auburn, and did a full work up on Sara. We came away with antibiotic, stool culture, anti inflammatory, subq fluids, lab work, many treats, and another whopping bill! If you know of any jobs for Sara, please let me know! They think she may have some gastritis, will wait on the stool culture, but she was VERY perky when we left the office. On the way home, Ken called so I pulled onto a side road to talk on the phone, and discovered the grave yard of military planes outside Monthan Air Force Base, or maybe it was part of the Air Museum across the road - but it was a sight to behold, lots of huge old planes! Makes me want to go see the Air Museum also! Then it was back to my home base, after gassing up, and backed into spot 1313 - hope that's not double bad luck! I met my neighbors, a nice couple from Colorado - they're new to RV'ing but he has driven trucks all his life, so he's comfortable with that part, but they wanted to hear about all the places I've travelled. And I was moaning to him that I just discovered a hug crack in my windshield - he says no problem, but I'm sick about it - seems to be about a foot long right in front of my line of vision! I noticed it at the gas station when I cleaned the windshield, but I'm going to blame it on site 1313!! We also met some nice people and dogs at the dog park and then I came home to start some housekeeping - couldn't wait to clean the floors and windows! Tomorrow we have company coming, Army friends of Mom and Dad's who live here in Tucson. Talked to Kennie today to give her the prep list of supplies to bring and what not to bring - she arrives on Wed eve. For now, it's nice to be settled!

1313 not a bad number. It's that 666 that you have to worry about. Glad to hear about Sara. Nice to hear about your sunny weather.
