This morning we had no time for breakfast, woke up at 5:00 and left for Sossusvlei Lodge which was just 4 km away. From here we were picked up from the adventure centre at the Lodge and boarded a mini van. We picked up a few more passengers and drove for about another 30 minutes into the middle of the desert, with absolutely nothing around. Eventually we saw two trucks and a balloon on the ground. We were greeted by Nigel, another British pilot and proceed with the instructions.

We were twelve passengers which included three pilots . The owner with a pilot in training and our pilot. Louise did not sleep much, she was awake at 3:30 out of excitement for the day ahead.

It was just a wonderful day but with hardly any wind, we seem to rise to the desired height and sort of stayed in the same area. Had a wonderful breakfast after an uneventful, soft landing.
