Our driver picked us up at 8:00AM and we headed back to the city to pick up the girls . Got there 20 minutes later and connected to the internet to take messages and sent a few out.
We stopped off at the Manakara market because I wanted to get some dried vanilla sticks to take home and while I was there, I got some red and black pepper.

After four hours we arrived in the town of Ranomafana, besides the National Park. Checked in at Gaspard Hotel and went for lunch at Hotel Manja which was five minutes away. We don't have a restaurant at Gaspard but they do serve breakfast. Upon our return to Gaspard hotel, we met a local guide for information about the different hikes they offer. Lucie, Francois and I will get up for an early breakfast and leave at 7:00 AM for our walk, it takes between 3-4 hours non stop. With pictures, you never know, it can be longer! Francois is hoping to get a few bird shots for an article on Madagascar. The ideal time for birds is in October, November and December.
