Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom

Disney's Animal Kingdom, Florida, United States
After breakfast we headed to Animal Kingdom Park. First we went on the Safari - unlike the Jungle Cruise in Magic Kingdom with animatronic animals, these were real living breathing ones. And a lot of them could just walk right up to our open vehicle if they wanted to! Then we took the Wildlife Express Train just to ride it but it wasn't very interesting.

We stopped at a Pizza Cafe for lunch. It was really really hot and I was dragging with the heat.

From there we went to the Magic Kingdom and took the train around to Fantasyland. Mary was amazed - said all the times at Disney she doesn't remember ever being there! We shopped in the Big Top shop, then walked around, rode in the "Under the Sea" ride, got our pictures taken with our Fairygodmother, sat at Casey's Corner with drinks and ducks and herons begging for treats, walked thru the emporium, then rode the train again all the way around, then sat in the station where it was cool until time for dinner.

Ate at Tony's Italian restaurant in the main square, this is where Lady and the Tramp ate spaghetti. We were seated on the porch so we could watch the Electric Parade later. Our waiter Daniel was great, the food was wonderful. During dinner there was a downpour and it was fun watching all the people scampering toward shelter.

The Electric Parade was delayed because of the lightening, so Mary and Beth decided to go back to the room and Sue and I stayed to watch.

When we got back to the room, we discovered that the maid had left Mary and Beth another towel sculpture - a really cool swan. And we forgot again to leave a tip. Finally they 'fessed up that the maid had actually left it in our room but they stole it. They were jealous (and rightly so) that we still hadn't left a tip and got the best towels.
