EPCOT

Epcot Center, Florida, United States
To EPCOT - I've wanted to go here ever since it opened how many years ago! First we did Space Ship Earth which is a ride that goes inside the big EPCOT ball and traces the history of man's inventions.

Then we went to Mission Space to Mars. The whole vacation we've learned that some of us are left and right challenged. So here we are on the ride and our mission control guy (Gary Sinesse) says "watch out, astroids ahead, quick turn left" and I figured we're screwed since we don't know if it's left or our other left! Sue wasn't so happy with that ride. It wasn't really a thrill ride but one where the visual aids make you think you're doing more exciting things than you really are.

We stopped at Mouse Gear to shop (I bought a mermaid tee for a swim suit coverup to make my mermaids jealous), ate at the Electric Umbrella, and then rode Soarin' which is like hang gliding around the world. Again most of the action is in your head with the visual aids and Sue wasn't so happy. I thought it was great.

We went back to rest for awhile and then back to EPCOT for dinner at the Coral Reef, a seafood restaurant with a big aquarium on one wall and great food. We finally had an alcoholic drink with dinner, and then Mickey sent us champagne for our birthdays. Our waiter was great as well.

We walked to the EPCOT lake to watch the fireworks but found out they weren't until 9:00 and we didn't want to wait so we went back to the hotel and played a couple rounds of Farkle.
In this photo it looks like Mary has devil horns. Appropriate!
