Visit with the Johnsons in Illinois

North Aurora, Illinois, United States

On the way to Illinois from our campground in the Dells, we decided to go to see the capital of Wisconsin. Madison is a picturesque city located on a beautiful lake shore. It was a short detour for us and we were able to wind through the streets of the capital with our 35 feet 5th wheel trailer in tow. We were able to circle around the capital building and head back out of town.
We crossed from Wisconsin into northern Illinois. The scenery was very familiar. We saw farm after farm, and a lot of corn fields.

By afternoon, we arrived in North Aurora and went to Chuck and Elaine Johnson's home. Elaine fed us quesadillas and we started on some laundry. Later their son, Ken, arrived with Colin, 5, and Finley, 2. We had a relaxing visit and went out for pizza later. Returning home, we all settled in to watch the first presidential debate. We spent the night in our trailer and Elaine fixed a good breakfast for us the next morning. We were glad for the brief break from the road and good visit, since we had never seen where the Johnsons lived.

Very cool Dave! Last time I was in (actually over) Madison was in a F/A 18 Hornet that I strapped into in Oshkosh. It said "Blue Angels" on the side!! It is mighty beautiful country there.....
