Leaving Toronto, we skirted the city to avoid the Monday-morning traffic, but got snarled in it anyway. Soon, we could see Lake Ontario as we headed northeast toward the city of Montreal.



The day started out with heavy overcast and drizzle. The trip was pretty uneventful until Lake Ontario ended and the St. Lawrence Seaway began. We saw a couple of ships headed into the Lakes to load cargo. But then we started seeing numerous islands and soon came to the Thousand Islands National Park. The Thousand Islands Parkway was beautiful. We had partial sunshine, which made the scenery even more beautiful. The towns were very picturesque and some of the islands were just large enough for a house to be built on them.

All too soon we came to our stop for the night, Johnstown. Our RV park was part of the city park. We were in view of the Ogdensberg-Prescott International Bridge. Strange feeling - being in Canada and yet looking at the U.S. from across the river, knowing that the country "over there" is home.

After setting up the trailer for the night, we soon settled down to dinner and blogging afterward. Roxie also seems to have accepted the trailer as home and has found her place in front of the fireplace at night.
