This morning Teresa, Martin , George and I went to the Wellness centre. George just sat on a sun lounger but the rest of us went in the spa. It was lovely. Then we went to lunch. After lunch we just relaxed till the boat berthed. Boat was held up and didn't arrive at Freudenburg till 16.45. We were told to go straight to the bus. Our guide on the bus to Wertheim was quite funny. We were lucky enough to get the same guide for our tour of the town.
Arrived there at 1815 . Over an hour late. What an interesting place. Lovely little houses but I wouldn't like to live there. The place floods every few years. So much so that they can't get insurance against flooding. The late arrival meant most of the shops were shut by the time we'd had our tours but the bars were open so that was fine. We had been told the boat would move on from Freudenberg and pick us up in Wertheim. Originally we were supposed to be picked up at 1915 but because of the delays we were told to be at the new berth for 20.45. Unfortunately our boat didn't get through the locks at the time it should so this was changed again. Karin, the cruise director, bought us all a drink and we waited for the boat arriving. We didn't get back on the boat till about 10pm by which time we basically were told to dump our stuff and go straight to dinner. I felt really sorry for Karin and the waiting staff. Everyone was pretty good humoured about it fortunately.
By the time dinner was over most people just went to bed as it had been a long day. Hopefully the boat will catch up some time during the night or we will miss our booked slots and that could lead to further delays.
