Cuenca, Azuay, Ecuador
Our flight from Cuenca to Quito had been changed twice and was now scheduled to leave around 11:00am. It is always tricky to count on a connecting flight when they are booked separately, but we were still confident that everything would work out.
We ate breakfast and were then driven to the Cuenca Airport. The airport is tiny, but we were able to wander through a few shops and get our last cafe con leche. Brennan watched "Bolt" in Spanish. Although our flight was delayed about 10 minutes, we made up the time in the air and arrived on time. We were a little concerned that the Domestic Terminal would be a great distance from the International Terminal, but it turned out to be right where we landed. The line to check in was long; however, by some miracle, an agent immediately approached us and asked if we had checked in. We had, and we were put in a special line ahead of everyone. It took us no time to be checked in which gave us quite a lot of time before we departed.
We did a little shopping and bought some "Black Friday" specials before sitting in the Johnny Rockets area and playing Huckley Buck. Then, it was time to board and we were on our way on our second flight for the day. So far, so good.
Our last flight from Panama  City to Dulles took off on time and actually landed early. Really no problems the whole day. We were assigned seats in different rows but a very nice woman from Norfolk, VA changed with us to allow us to sit together.
Upon arrival, Customs went well, we picked up our bag and the shuttle bus from the hotel came within minutes of us getting outside. We arrived at the hotel and were tucked in bed by 12:45am.
A non-eventful day to end a spectacular trip.
