It had to happen and we are both relieved, at least this way we have clarity about what is happening. The FCO have advised against all but essential overseas travel and Wendy Wu have now suspended all their trips until April 15th at the earliest. Interestingly they have back dated their announcement so it appears as if it was made yesterday rather than about an hour after the UK government’s statement today.

So now we just have to wait to hear about our refund, I guess their first call will be to ask us to delay our holiday or they will want to hold a credit account for us but we are not going to do that, we will simply re-book when all this has blown over in 12 months time or so. Meantime I have 94,000 Yen in my wallet!

All this because somewhere in Wuhan someone said “I wonder what horseshoe bat tastes like?” Well it probably didn’t taste good.
