Bangkok Airport

Nong Prue, Chang Wat Samut Prakan, Thailand
We arrived on time at Bangkok airport even though we left Dubai a bit late. We were off the plane in the first tranche which was good although we had plenty of time in hand anyway with a 2.5 hour wait for our connection. We had to walk about a mile from the plane to the Bangkok Airways counter which was just alongside the passport and immigration check for internal transfers, we had by passed the main immigration exits as these were for baggage claim. We got our boarding cards easily enough, no queue, and then it was border control/immigration and a quick security check and a short walk to the gate waiting area where we are sat now. I think Fiona must have managed some sleep as she seems bright enough, long travel affects her worse than me, must be all those years of interrupted sleep when on call out for Littlewoods. Although you would think her years of seeing to crying babies in the middle of the night would have helped her but even normally she doesn't sleep as well as I do. I dozed for about 3 hours which should see me OK until tonight. In fact she's dropping off in the seat next to me now.
I forgot to mention the security at Manchester airport, it was extremely thorough! More so than normal I would say, maybe 30% of hand luggage being manually searched, most people had a pat down of some sort after the scanner. In fact I think I have had less intrusive prostrate examinations!
Its 30C outside but cool enough inside, yes I know its cold at home!
The one thing guaranteed to make you look worse than your passport photo is a 20 hour journey. I need a shower and a cold beer but not necessarily in that order.
Hey Lucy, Fiona is really pleased with the carry on case you bought her (not sure we paid you?), easier than a backpack and very light, small but big enough for all her stuff.
