En Route To Krabi

Nong Prue, Chang Wat Samut Prakan, Thailand
Last night we took a shuttle from the hotel to the night market, the shuttle only runs one way though! Anyway we had a quick wander around a part of the market but a lot of stalls were still setting up so we went out again and found a bar and had a beer, used their wifi to google some restaurants although where we were seemed quite popular with the German tourists. Fiona found a hostel round the corner so we decided to go there, called Norn Nung Len it has some dormitories, some private rooms and some indoor tents and on the ground floor it has a cafe with live music most nights (but not tonight). We decided on burgers with chips and Fiona had a gin and tonic, she had to stop them adding grenadine and syrup to it, we just needed a change from Thai food. Unfortunately this was going to have repercussions later.
Then it was back to the market which was busier now with all the stalls open, the food court was doing a roaring trade and in one section there was live entertainment. We caught a tuk tuk back to the hotel.
During the night Fiona was quite violently sick, luckily she managed to get to the bathroom first, she was sick again in the morning so she only had a very light breakfast. Because we wern't getting collected until 13.00 there was plenty of time to relax in the morning, we had a swing seat on our patio so Fiona crashed out on that. All too soon someone came to collect our bags for checkout, our driver Manoo and guide Yo were waiting for us and we set off on the short journey to the airport, only about 15 minutes. We had to wait a short while for checkin to open partly because they were having technical issues. Bangkok Airways provides free snacks and drinks just before the final security check so we grabbed a few small items and went to wait in the lounge. I had to change from shorts as it was just too cold in the lounge. Flight was on time and only about an hour, as we got off the plane one of the groundstaff said for us to use the Boutique Lounge, very nice, free wifi, free snacks and drinks, comfortable chairs and quiet. We had 3 hours to wait which was a bind, the flight was on time and only about 90 minutes, luggage came quickly and someone was outside to meet us. A 30 minute drive to the boat pier in Ao Nong but we got there about 10 minutes after the hourly boat had left so we had to wait 50 minutes. I would have taken a private transfer but they were all shut for the night as were all of the few local bars. I wasn't feeling great by this point which was ominous. Boat journey was about 15 minutes and we parked up alongside a very wobbly jetty made of interlocking plastic tiles. Checked in and got taken to the room by golf buggy thankfully as I was completely knackered by this point. The resort backs onto large cliffs and the rooms are set into the hillside with ours being on the penultimate tier. Nice sizeable room, big balcony, ocean view. By this time it was gone midnight so we just crashed.
