3 nights in the Interalpine-Hotel Tyrol
Spent the whole day traveling to our next hotel arriving around 4:30pm passing through Chur with four train changes, the first one was 9 minutes but by this time we were well practiced and this was no problem
. Our last station was a little way from the hotel so the hotel provided transport for the last 20 mins. 3 mini buses plus a taxi!
This turned out to be a magnificent old style hotel, set above the snowline at 1300m. It is like a cruise ship since it has everything to keep you entertained both inside and outside. Please see the link

The transport drives right into the hotel to a preliminary reception in the basement. The main reception is on the ground floor The basement was also a carpark probably about 60 cars.
We went up to the ground floor which was the all wood lined. this had the reception lots of little seated areas which included the bar and dining room plus a shop and a coffee shop. THe dining room was in two parts one formal and the other under a glass roof where we had breakfast.
We had been told that the evening meal would require a jacket/tie for men and appropriate dress for the ladies. Well deserved since dinner was a 6 course meal most of the other guests did in fact change for dinner
. A proper silver service: as each 4 or 5 main course plates were brought out they were covered with a silver salver then 4 or 5 waiters came out to lift off the salvers: Pure Class
Next morning was a lovely sunny day albeit about 3C. Being in snow what did Owen organize but a sleigh ride. Six to a sleigh and we had about 5 of them. Each was pulled by two horses. There was about 7.5 cm of snow by the side of the road, Our sleigh did in fact have rubber tyres whereas some of the others had skids and tyres. Our ride went for about 30 mins alongside a cross country ski run, very off to see the skiers and we in the sleigh, we ended up at a place that served drinks and snacks, by this time it was about -8D (the sun still shining) so the gluewin was very welcome.
Back to the hotel where we explored the swimming pool, a large indoor one with swing doors leading outdoors. The oudoor bit was heated since there was about 6cm of snow on the ground. Another 6-course meal tonight which was excellent.
Next day was a full day exploring Innsbruck, and a ride on the Stubaitalbahn railway. I decided I would have a lay day and nurse my cold (not as bad as in the UK) Another sunny day albeit cold I spent some time on the computer than took a brief walk outside to take photos. While it was about +5D I surprised to see a man in shirtsleeves soaking up the sunshine..
Yet another 6-course dinner for our final night.
Next day we piled into the hotel transport to Seefeld to catch the train to Zurich to fly back to Australia.
Another lovely trip well done Owen & Takako
( We have 2 nights in Singapore which will come soon)
Lovely end to the Trip

Great photos but who were those "deros" you were with?
