Was that it? Are we there already?

Athens, Attica, Greece
So we strapped ourselves into the seemingly roomy seats on our Emirates long haul horror expedition with some confusion. Far from the narrow personal silos with no elbow space squashed in the usual low oxygen fart tube we have become used to....instead we were treated to the relative comfort of an Airbus A380 seat. Delirious with the luxury afforded with being able to cross you legs should you choose to we settled in and watched some really good entertainment....none of which we will ever be able to recall again. And while gazing up at the cabin fairy lights time just slipped away and we had arrived in Dubai. A bit dazed that the shocker leg was over we stumbled around the airport for a while and then settled down to watch the sunrise on the desert horizon while we ate some significantly good food for an airport to while away the time until our substantially less comfortable ride to Athens..

Upon arrival we segued through customs and baggage collection and passed through the doors to Athens with surprising expediency and after meeting our pre-booked taxi bloke "Nikos" we were then running to keep up with him as he travelled along the length of the airport at an Olympic pace, loaded us into the van and had us standing in front of reception at our hotel in a blink of an eye .

Consequently we found ourselves sitting a little dazed in front of frappes, Greek salads and lamb souvlaki in such a relatively short time from when we had left Brisbane that it felt surreal to not have suffered more for the achievement of our European destination. Repleted, we fell into our requisite first night comas.
