It was a grotty, wet morning and a morning for not doing very much. Indeed, the whole day was much the same, until around 16:00 when the rain finally stopped. This sounds like we were rather fed up but in fact we quite enjoyed the day, Julie did a bit of clothes sorting, I wrote the blog and we both read and watched a bit of TV. By the time the rain stopped we were getting restless so we went for a stroll out towards the very large memorial dedicated to the dead seamen from both World Wars. We didn’t get that far, we stopped in a very pleasant park area where I took a couple of photos and then we headed back to CW, in time for our invitation to Tutunui at 18:30. Janet had prepared a really nice beef roulade in a very tasty sauce, served with the Samsø potatoes that we’d given her. It was a lovely, relaxed evening and we enjoyed it very much.
