A change of plan

Laboe Baltic Bay Hafen, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany
Today we were planning to leave to go to Heiligenhafen, about 30 miles away. However, it was such a grotty morning that on the way to the showers, we decided there was little point in our leaving so we decided to stay for another day. It was a cool, showery day and totally overcast with a fresh breeze blowing from the south, a day for staying under cover and not doing a lot. However, during the morning Janet & Horst suggested that it might be nice to go to a shopping mall to do a little shopping and to have some lunch – their car is parked here so at 12:00 all 5 of us squeezed into their Mercedes SLK (a 2 + 2 sports car ie a car with less than normal space in the back for passengers). Polly was not impressed with having two large humans sitting in her space in the back! It was a 20 -30 minute drive to the mall and once we extricated ourselves, we went into a large Cosco-style store but one that allowed the public in, non-members paying a higher price that members. We bought a few bits and pieces, had sandwiches in a café nearby and then returned home. At 18:00 it was our turn to host and we’d cooked a roast chicken and once again, we had a pleasant evening, this would definitely be our last one for a few days, Janet & Horst may well come down to Burgstaaken to meet with the other Cruising Association members who are now back there.
