More work for the engine

Karlskrona, Småland and Blekinge, Sweden
Today we wanted to get to Karlskrona, about another 30 miles. The wind was quite light at 06:15 when we set off but sure enough, after an hour or so, it picked up, on the nose and blowing a good F5 at times – slow progress. At least the sun was shining and the sea became flatter as we approached the small archipelago of islands that form a protective shield to the important naval town of Karlskrona. There is not much to relate about the journey, we got into the visitor's harbour at Karlskrona at 15:15 and were pleased to switch off the poor hard-working engine. It was warm, in fact hot, especially as we were able to moor the boat head to wind so that the cockpit was quite sheltered.

Once the day started cooling, we availed ourselves of the free laundrette and did one wash and settled down for the evening – tonight was Tacos, a really good quick meal on the boat and quite tasty .
