A Horrible Day

Considering this is the month that has both the longest day and midsummer's day in, it was not an auspicious start. It was truly horrible, raining and windy and cold. Still, not a bad day to be travelling, as you might as well, as there’s not much else you could do.

A pre-ordered taxi came for us on time and after a 30 minutes or so wait in the bus station, the express coach arrived, Greta 'bagged’ the front seat (she is not a good traveller and was concerned that if she had to sit in the centre of the coach for hours, she might suffer) and having seen them safely on board, we left them to it and set off back to the boat, via the supermarket. It’s always a funny feeling saying goodbye to friends, you sort of welcome getting back to a bit more space and your own routines but at the same time, you miss their company. Ah well.

We didn’t do a whole lot else for the rest of the day, we just hunkered down as squall after squall came through. A truly horrid day but a good one to be in harbour with free electricity and free laundry facilities, both of which we made full use of.
